INDIE FANTASY CONVENTION CODE OF CONDUCT
2025
We ask that all convention-attendees who are taking part in Indie Fantasy Convention, be that moderators, panellists, readers and interviewees or viewers, behave in an appropriate manner when on camera and/or when using the chat function during the convention. The chat will be moderated by the admins of Indie Fantasy Addicts, and attendees of the convention will be held to the same Code of Conduct.
This includes (but is not exclusive to):
• Offensive verbal comments about gender, sexuality, impairment, physical appearance, body size, race class/economic status, culture, political identity, or religion.
• Racist behaviour.
• Showing sexual images on camera on or in the chat function.
• Intimidation.
• Sustained disruption of talks or other events.
• Symbols or images that the event organisers deem offensive. This could include t-shirt design and posters.
In addition, discussions or images related to sex, pornography, discriminatory language or similar is permitted if it meets all of the following criteria: organisers have specifically granted permission; it is necessary to the topic of discussion and no alternative exists; it is presented in a respectful manner; and attendees are warned in advance in the programme and respectfully given ample warning and opportunity to leave beforehand. This exception does not allow use of gratuitous sexual images as attention-getting devices (such as clothing) or unnecessary presentation or panel examples. Indie Fantasy Convention is designed to be family friendly and this should be remembered first and foremost.
In the event of our Code of Conduct being infringed upon, the event organisers reserve the right to decide if you should take part in our programmed activity and can remove you from this at any time. For example you could be removed from taking part in panels or removing you from them if you are taking part, and/or rescinding your invite to the convention.
Indie Fantasy Convention is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all. We aim to be respectful and kind in all our programming and aware disagreements can arise. Please navigate these in a healthy and respectful way. Organisers and programming invitees are giving up their time to share their experience and knowledge, so please treat them with all due respect and care.
